What Color Poodle Should I breed to a Bernese Mountain Dog to produce the Perfect Tri color bernedoodle?

To produce Tri Bernedoodles the Poodle should be:

  • E/- (second allele is unimportant)

  • ky/ky (if the poodle is Kb/ky, then some puppies will be black)

  • at/at (if the poodle is ay/at then some puppies will be sable, some will be phantom, if the poodle is at/a or a/a, this is good)

  • sp/sp - the Irish spotting gene is not testable, but great success has been achieved by breeding parti or parti carriers to a BMD.
