Goals Announcement.png

My intention for this litter is to place wonderful, well-bred puppies into both pet and breeding programs.

I do hope to further perfect my training techniques. Ideally, I would like for one pup to go into a service/therapy program. Charlie’s brother is a therapy dog and I would like for that tradition to continue.

How Does the Puppy Pick Process Work?

Puppy picks WILL NOT occur until 6/7 weeks.

At 4 weeks, we will DNA swab each puppy and send to the lab for evaluation of coat traits. There is a two-week turnaround time on these results.

At six weeks, we take the puppies for their first round of shots & vet check-ups.

Puppies who receive stellar vet check-ups (no umbilical hernias, nice patellas, and no puppy heart murmurs) will be available for Full Registration.

Sometime between weeks 6 & 7, the Volhard Temperament Test will be conducted by our friends and partners at Fulfilled Dogs.

Only after these steps have been taken, will puppy picks occur.

What Does That Mean for Me Now?

After all testing and check-ups are complete I will go in order of non-refundable holding fee placement & application to confirm/help pick the right puppy for you.

Unless we have discussed and agreed otherwise please complete an application. We will process applications, schedule phone interviews, and take deposits IN ORDER OF ACCEPTANCE. You can find our health guarantee/contract below. Please read thoroughly, print, sign, and return following the phone interview.

You will not be added to the waitlist until your $500 deposit is received. We accept deposits via PayPal, Cash (if local and you wish to visit in person), or check (unless we are within 2 weeks of Puppy Go Home date.)

This agreement is between (Seller) Valerie Mitchem of Valaurah Farms of Deer Park, Washington and :

Buyer : _______________________________________

It is agreed between Seller and Buyer as follows:

  1. Seller’s Representations

The buyer has FIVE days from the time of purchase to have the dog examined by a veterinarian and to personally inspect the dog. Any request to return the dog to the Seller must be made within this time period and must be accompanied by a written statement from a veterinarian describing any problems found. A warranty against genetic defects is provided for two years after the day of sale, related cumulative reimbursement limited to 50% of the purchase price. Genetic defects that qualify for reimbursement are those relating to Degenerative Myelopathy, Ichthyosis, Neonatal Encephalopathy with Seizures, Neuronal Ceroid Lipofuscinosis 5, Osteochondrodysplasia, Progressive Retinal Atrophy, Golden Retriever 1, Progressive Retinal Atrophy, Golden Retriever 2, Progressive Retinal Atrophy, Progressive Rod-Cone Degeneration, Progressive Retinal Atrophy, Rod-Cone Dysplasia 4, Von Willebrand Disease I, Hereditary Cataracts, Multidrug Resistance 1, Dystrophic Epidermolysis Bullosa, GM2 Gangliosidosis (Poodle Type), Muscular Dystrophy, Osteogenesis Imperfecta. Regarding Chondrodystrophy (CDDY & IVDD Risk) with or without Chondrodysplasia (CDPA) occasionally a puppy will test as Carrier/At-Risk/Affected on their genetic testing. About half of Goldendoodles in petite or smaller sizes will have this mutation, although there are very, very few reports of actual disc disease found in the breed. The medical community’s current stance on this specific disease is to not remove too quickly and only with careful planning and oversight. The expert advice is to breed out slowly and over many generations (5-10 years). Breeding out too quickly could inadvertently result in more harm than good. To reduce the risk of disc degeneration it is recommended to

  • Keep the dog in good shape

  • Keep them fit and active

  • Keep them at a healthy weight

  • Avoid high impact activities

Reimbursement for genetic defects will be made only when a second opinion from a qualified veterinarian and proof of surgery expenses are provided. Umbilical hernia repairs will be reimbursed up to $200, with written proof of surgical expense itemized on the bill. In the rare case of death due to the above genetic factors, the puppy will be replaced free of charge if under 2 years of age. A necropsy report completed by a qualified veterinarian must show cause of death as a genetic issue. Shipping fees are at the buyer’s expense. Seller agrees to rehome should the original purchaser so request. Warranties shall only apply to the original purchaser. Seller makes no guarantee this dog will not shed or cause an allergic reaction. Buyer understands that Seller’s prediction of coat type, height, and weight at adulthood are estimates only and are based on Seller’s goal to match puppies with families appropriately.

Valaurah Farms provides a certification for 30 days of free health insurance through Trupanion that has to be activated by the customer. Any warranty issues within the first 30 days will be paid out only for the deductible incurred. It is your responsibility to enroll your puppy within the first 24 hours of possession with Trupanion to enact this coverage.

This dog must be spayed or neutered after 18 months of age, but before 26 months of age. Failure to have this done will void the health warranty. Proof of spay/neuter must be supplied to Valaurah Farms within 30 days of procedure to maintain your warranty. For dogs sold with breeding rights, this clause is void. Dogs sold with breeding rights MUST not be bred prior to the completion of all GANA health testing requirements. Males will not be bred before 12 months of age. Females will not be bred before 18 months of age, or their second heat cycle. If the purchaser fails to comply with these practices, the purchaser agrees to pay the seller ten times the purchase price of this puppy for every litter produced. Seller makes no guarantees regarding the eventual breeding potential of the dog including, but not limited to, ability to pass OFA and/or Pennhip certifications, Bite/Dentition, Fertility, Structure and/or ability. .

Under no circumstances shall the Seller be liable to the Buyer or to any third party for a dog that has been subjected to abuse, accident, negligence or misuse. Also, under no circumstances, shall the Seller be liable for any consequential incidental or special damages resulting from or in any manner related to the dog.

Upon execution of this contract, all veterinary care and its associated costs are the sole and exclusive responsibility of the Buyer.

Consideration

This dog, identified in Section 1, is being sold for the sum of $4500.00, payable in full at the execution of this contract, prior to the puppy’s departure from Valaurah Farms. In the event that said funds are not readily collectible by the Seller, for example, a refusal by a bank to honor a check tendered by the Buyer for the dog, the parties agree that the Seller shall have the right to recover from the Buyer all reasonable attorneys’ fees and court costs incurred in connection with obtaining full payment. There is a non-refundable $500.00 consultation and reservation fee to guarantee a position on a waitlist. This is applied to the overall purchase price. Consultation and Reservation fees can be paid via Venmo, Zelle, Cashier’s Check and/or Cash. The final balance is payable via CASH only, in specific circumstances (long distance Buyers) Venmo, Zelle and/or Cashier’s Checks will be accepted.

Maintenance

Buyer agrees to maintain this dog in good health, provide preventative health care including, but not limited to, inoculation, internal parasites, and if necessary, heartworm preventative medication. It is agreed that your Goldendoodle will be housed indoors and fed quality food. It is also agreed that you will maintain your dog at a healthy weight. Buyer agrees to postpone strenuous, repetitive exercise (agility, running, hiking) until a minimum of 18 months of age. Buyer agrees to provide basic obedience training within the first year of ownership. Buyer agrees to NEVER place this dog in a shelter, pound or similar facility including a research laboratory. Buyer agrees that usage of any oral flea and tick preventatives voids the warranty completely due to the FDA warning correlating neurological issues in dogs on these products. Use of ProHeart 6 and other injectable heartworm preventatives will void the warranty completely.

Full and Final Agreement

The parties agree that this writing represents the entire agreement between them and that no other representations, either oral or written have been made regarding the dog described above. The parties further agree that no changes in this contract shall be binding upon either of them without written modifications signed by both parties.

Buyer agrees that he/she understands this contract fully, and that this contract is under the jurisdiction of the State of Washington, in the county of Spokane. The agreed place of venue shall be in Spokane County, Washington.
