What it’s like to be part of a Valaurah Farms litter is just as important as the puppies themselves.

The Experience

Bringing home a Valaurah puppy is more than just a pickup day — it’s a guided, transparent experience from the very beginning.

Once you join our waitlist, you’ll be invited into a private Facebook group created specifically for your litter.

This is where we share consistent updates throughout the entire raising process, including photos, videos, developmental milestones, and a behind-the-scenes look at how your puppies are being raised.

We typically post several times each week, giving you the opportunity to truly follow your puppy’s early development — not just through staged photos, but through real, day-to-day moments.

You’ll see how the puppies interact, how they respond to new environments, and how their individual personalities begin to emerge.

As the litter grows, we introduce structured early experiences that lay the foundation for confident, capable dogs.

This includes crate exposure, grooming introduction, car rides, problem-solving activities, and early socialization — all done thoughtfully and progressively.

At seven weeks, each puppy undergoes a structured temperament evaluation.

We provide detailed insights to help guide your decision, and selections are made in order of reservation fee.

You’ll have the opportunity to choose your puppy with as much guidance as you’d like — whether you want hands-on support or prefer to take the lead in your decision.

After puppies go home, the group remains active as a space for continued support, shared experiences, and connection.

Many of our families stay involved long-term, creating a community that extends well beyond those first eight weeks.

Families who join our program have the opportunity to follow along every step of the way.

OUR GOAL FOR THIS LITTER

This is a more sport-focused, higher-drive litter designed for homes seeking engagement, athleticism, and capability.

We expect:

  • Sport and performance prospects with intensity, endurance, and strong prey drive

  • Select service prospects (approximately 1–3 depending on litter size)

  • Strong show prospects, building on proven structure and movement

  • Affectionate, people-oriented companions with a range of energy levels

This litter will naturally produce a spectrum — from more moderate, easygoing puppies to higher-intensity sport prospects — allowing for thoughtful placement based on each individual.

We are also intentionally seeking 1–2 co-ownership homes interested in developing and titling a prospect. These homes play an important role in the future of our program and are selected carefully.

ABOUT THIS PAIRING

Minnie and Magic are very well-matched in terms of drive, creating a litter with consistent engagement, athleticism, and working potential.

Magic contributes strong workability, intelligence, and structure. He brings clarity in training, engagement, and the ability to channel drive productively.

Minnie contributes intense prey drive, athletic movement, and natural instinct, particularly in chase-based activities such as Fast CAT and lure coursing. While she is easygoing in the home, she brings significant intensity once engaged.

Together, this pairing is expected to produce dogs with:

  • Consistent drive and engagement

  • Strong athletic ability

  • Clear working potential

  • Balanced companion traits depending on the individual

Previous litters from this pairing have demonstrated versatility, producing service dogs, show prospects, and capable companions.

Meet the Parents

Both Minnie and Magic are performance and conformation titled, health-tested Standard Poodles with complementary strengths in structure, temperament, and working ability.

Structure • Intelligence • Workability

Magic is a highly capable, intelligent dog with strong workability and engagement. He brings clarity in training and a natural ability to connect and perform across multiple venues.

Structurally, Magic is square, balanced, and conformationally correct. His consistency in both structure and temperament makes him a strong foundation in this pairing.

Structure • Athleticism • Instinct

Minnie is an affectionate, people-oriented dog with a naturally easygoing temperament in the home. She is very loving, highly social, and content to relax — until her prey drive is engaged.

When activated, Minnie brings intense focus and persistence, particularly in chase-based sports such as Fast CAT and lure coursing. Once engaged, she maintains that intensity and drive for extended periods.

Her workability is fair — she is not the most naturally intuitive dog, but she is willing, tries, and brings a fun, engaging personality to her work.

Structurally, Minnie is a strong show prospect with a beautiful headpiece, excellent eye and ear set, and fluid movement that covers ground efficiently. She is slightly longer in body and her topline has softened with litters, but she maintains overall balance and presence.

This pairing combines Magic’s structure, intelligence, and workability with Minnie’s prey drive, athleticism, and natural instinct.

The result is a litter designed to produce:

  • Consistent drive and engagement

  • Strong sport and performance potential

  • Excellent physical ability and movement

  • A range of companion temperaments

Previous litters from this pairing have produced:

  • Multiple service dogs

  • Show prospects, including an AKC-pointed dog working toward a championship

  • “Quack,” who earned Best Puppy in Show Bred-By and Reserve Best Puppy in Show Bred-By before six months of age

This is a pairing built for purpose — not by accident.

What We Expect From This Litter

This pairing is expected to produce a thoughtful blend of drive, versatility, and companionship.

Puppies from Minnie and Magic consistently show engagement with their people, eagerness to learn, and a natural desire to participate in daily life. Many will thrive in active homes, with the potential for sport, performance, or service work, while others will settle beautifully into well-balanced companion roles.

We anticipate a range of energy levels within the litter — from more laid-back, easygoing puppies to those with higher intensity suited for sport and working homes. Across the board, these puppies tend to be affectionate, people-oriented, and highly connected to their families.

This pairing has already produced puppies who have gone on to succeed as service dogs, sport companions, and show prospects, as well as deeply loved family dogs.

As with most Standard Poodles, puppies may show some natural curiosity and environmental awareness. With early guidance and consistency, they transition well into a wide variety of homes, including those with children and other animals.

Overall, this litter is expected to produce versatile, intelligent dogs with the ability to adapt to many lifestyles, while still maintaining the structure and drive needed for higher-level work when desired.

Our Placement Process

We expect this litter to produce puppies suited for a variety of homes, including performance, sport, service, and well-matched companion placements. Each puppy is evaluated individually and placed based on temperament, structure, and long-term suitability.

Every puppy is sent home with:

• Snuggle Puppy for comfort and transition

How Your Puppy Is Prepared Before Going Home

Equal importance is placed on how each puppy is raised and developed during their time with us.

Each puppy is given a strong foundation through early, intentional exposure, including:

• Early neurological stimulation (ENS) and early scent introduction (ESI)
• Daily handling and structured socialization
• Early grooming exposure and handling tolerance
• Crate introduction and foundational independence
• Car rides and exposure to new environments
• Introduction to problem-solving and engagement
• Learning how to appropriately take treats and interact with people
• Early potty training using a dog door and cedar chip transition system
• Ongoing observation and temperament evaluation

Health & Veterinary Care

All puppies receive age-appropriate veterinary care prior to going home, including:

• Bordetella at 3 weeks
• Neopar at 4 weeks
• First DHPP at 6 weeks
• Veterinary exam at 7 weeks

Puppies go home at 8 weeks.
If a puppy remains until 9 weeks, they will receive their second DHPP prior to going home.

The goal is not just to send home a puppy, but to provide a well-prepared, confident dog with a foundation that supports long-term success in their new home.

Pricing, Availability & Reservation List

Puppies from this litter are priced at $2,950.

This reflects the level of health testing, structured raising, and ongoing support provided through our program.

Reservations are accepted following an approved application, and a non-refundable reservation fee is required to secure your place in selection order.

At approximately seven weeks of age, each puppy undergoes temperament evaluation. Based on these evaluations, we provide guidance on each puppy’s individual strengths, tendencies, and best-fit homes.

Families then make their selections in order of reservation, with as much guidance as desired. Some families prefer detailed recommendations, while others choose more independently — we support both approaches.

Our goal is to ensure each placement is thoughtful, informed, and aligned for long-term success.

We prioritize homes that are prepared, committed, and aligned with the goals of this litter.
